Educator pay

Educators are Minnesota’s most valuable resource. It’s time we start treating them that way.
Minnesota teachers make 28% less on average compared to other workers with the same education level. Many education support professionals only make minimum wage — often not enough to cover  health insurance costs.

The state of Minnesota must make direct investments in the compensation of its educators.

Together, we can elect leaders who will use state funding to:

  • Raise starting wages for teachers to $60,000/year and raise wages for all teachers, commensurate with other professions with similar educational requirements.
  • Establish a minimum wage for ESPs of $25/hour.
  • Support higher compensation for college faculty, including wages and expanding the right of dependent tuition waivers to state universities.
